I liked my previous two night visit so much that I booked a 4 night stay this time to allow for more hiking, exploring, and sitting by the cozy gas fire place. Jan’s breakfast was even better than I remember it. The bed is still one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Everything again was sparkling clean to COVID cleaning standards. The cottage is truly a beautifully designed and comfy getaway with caring hosts. There is a reason its a 5-stars and AirBnB+. See my August review for more details.

What a lovely place! Well located, thoughtful details, delicious food and super comfortable. Jan and Lou have created such a safe and friendly getaway and we are grateful for the R&R it provided. We’ll definitely be back for more cider and another stay!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. From the cosy cottage to the delicious breakfast, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to spend a weekend. Jan and Lou are the best hosts — they were always easy to reach and so caring! We felt like we were at home. We will definitely be back in the future!

I cannot begin to describe the delights of the Apple Garden Cottage. As the only guests on the property, we had ultimate privacy and quiet. The amenities were superb, ranging from the fresh organic breakfast baskets which magically appeared on our porch each morning to the extremely comfortable bed, to the location so close to Rte. 1, to the automatic fan in the bathroom.

However, what REALLY makes this place so special is the innkeeper, Jan Lee. She went out of her way to be available yet was in no way anything close to intrusive and was quite friendly, forthcoming, and a great conversationalist. She is the crowning jewel on the magical place called the Apple Garden Cottage and I highly recommend it without ANY reservations..in fact don’t make any reservations so my wife and I can have the place all to ourselves. LOL!

We loved this place. We stayed there for 4 days just before Christmas and it was wonderful. Living in the city, we wanted some quiet time in the countryside. We came away rested and restored.

It was a delight to have the freshly-made morning meals dropped off for us to deal with at our own pace. The store in Tomales, which is a pleasant walk from the cottage, provided us snacks and lunches. And there are a lot of options for dinner nearby. Our favorite was the Bodega Casino (which is neither a bodega or a casino, but a bar), where in the evenings they have pop-ups with amazing local chefs.

I also really appreciated Jan giving us a tour of their farm and teaching us about the business of it. We were really impressed with their industry and acumen. We’ll definitely be back!

A wonderful and relaxing weekend at the Apple Garden Cottage! A beautiful property with privacy galore. Located in Tomales and away from the busier locations with accommodations. Because we were here on a holiday weekend, the region was busy with visitors, but we always were able to retreat back to the Cottage for much needed time for relaxing and recharging. Jan’s morning breakfast meals were amazing! We also loved that the Cottage had a full-function kitchen. We were able to bring some oysters back from one of the local farms and steamed them up at the Cottage. Can’t wait for our next visit so we can visit more local farms and creameries in the area. Bringing home hard cider from the Apple Garden Farm is a MUST!

Amazing experience! We went for my 35th birthday and absolutely adored the care and special touches Jan had for our stay. We had fresh baked goods, local cream and eggs served each morning in a beautiful basket waiting outside our door. Jam made sure all our needs were met and we loved relaxing in the beautiful area that is tomales bay! Will definitely be back. If you are looking for a special getaway or well-deserved R&R, this is it!

Everything in this cottage appears to be brand new construction! Jan & her husband have done an excellent job with the entire place! She is very hospitable, and all the food is local, from the home made granola to the fresh eggs from their chickens & fresh picked strawberries from their garden! The list goes on…while eating breakfast we were able to see a doe & her 3 fawns out in the field grazing along with the cattle here on the property! Very close to Dillon Beach, & the cafe there is a great view for lunch! Nicks Cove for Dinner was an excellent choice for dinner and a very picturesque view of Tomales bay (make a reservation & request a window seat if party of 2) downtown Petaluma is also a short drive away for excellent restaurants & antique shopping/browsing. We had a great weekend and would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend get away!

We spent two wonderful days and nights here. The cottage is immaculate, beautifully decorated, and extremely comfortable. Jan makes you feel right at home, and her breakfasts are incredible and very filling! I would love to have her scones every morning. The town of Tomales is tiny and lovely, with many beautiful, old homes. We enjoyed walking through the two historic cemeteries, and especially treasured the country scenery and sounds. You won’t be disappointed in the cottage if you’re looking for a romantic weekend, or want to venture out for hiking, biking, or boating. We will definitely be back!
